For over 80 years, the Women’s Auxiliary has made numerous and significant contributions, donating more than $10 million dollars.
Listed below are only a few of our many contributions to the Hospital made possible through the support and tireless efforts of our members:
Donations of:
- $1.5 million to New Beginnings Family Birth Care Center
to complete the renovation of 23 postpartum suites.
- $1.5 million to complete the renovation of the 8-1
Oncology/Hospice Unit.
- $1 million for the Critical Care Unit in the Patient
Care Facility.
- $1 million for air conditioning the Hospital.
Funding for:
- Renovation of the Hospital’s Chapel and main Cafeteria.
- The Saint Francis Nursing Frontline Leadership Program
- The Cardiac and Trauma Resuscitation Rooms in the
Emergency/Trauma Center.
- The Initial five years of the First Time Mothers
Program
- The Wound Healing & Lymphedema Therapy Program
Purchase of:
- First endoscopic ultrasound machine in New England.
- A heart-lung machine for the Operating Room.
- First computer-aided detection system (CAD) in CT for
mammography.
- Fetal monitors for the Delivery Room and equipment for
the Neonatal Intensive Care Nursery.
- A Playscape for the ABC/CAPS program at the Mt. Sinai campus.
Annual Gifts for:
- Hospital “wish list” items.
- Cough pillows used in the Cardiac Intensive Care Unit
- Pediatric clinics, layettes for needy newborns and
Christmas Stockings for all newborns in December.
- Education of health care professionals.
Community Outreach Projects:

- 9/11 Remembrance – My Good Deed
